About Inderjeet Sandhu
Inderjeet Sandhu defines the home not just as a domestic space but also as a political arena where personal, social, and cultural dynamics converge. Shaped by his bicultural upbringing in a Dutch-Indian family, he sees the home as a site of negotiation and resistance—where comfort and tradition intersect with the lasting effects of colonization, migration, and adaptation. His work explores materials, craftsmanship, and domestic objects, reinterpreting them to reveal new meanings within political and cultural narratives. In this environment, where the personal merges with the mass-produced, he navigates themes of identity, displacement, and power, blurring the boundaries between the private and the public.
